Have you ever wondered what it’s like to watch a little ball of fur grow into a noble guardian? Well, you’re in for a treat!
Thanks to Lucas Smissen and his wife, Kelsey, we are able to watch their dog Kylo, who has gone from an 8-week-old bundle of joy to a one-year-old wonder in the blink of an eye.
They have captured every adorable, clumsy, and heartwarming moment in a mesmerizing timelapse video that will surely tug at your heartstrings.
Using a GoPro camera, Lucas took a picture of Kylo every day since they brought him home until the 12-month mark.
Let’s get into it since the results will certainly leave you speechless!
Meet The Smissens
On January 29, 2020, the couple uploaded a video titled “German Shepherd Puppy Growing Up, 8 Weeks To 1 Year,” which gained unexpected popularity. The video shows their adorable furry baby Kylo from the first day he came to their home until 12 months of age.
In the description, the couple wrote: “It took a long time to do this, but it was so worth the effort! Kylo is the newest member of the family. We have loved every minute with him. I did it all with my GoPro and took one photo every day for a year, and here is how it turned out!“
However, the video with Kylo is not the only one you can find on their YouTube channel called The Journey.
Lucas and Kelsey share their various adventures, living by their motto, “Tomorrow is too late.” You can follow the fun adventures of this couple and their small family while traveling to beautiful destinations on various social platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.
The Journeys mission statement is “Young adults striving to live out their passion by using their talents, gifts, and resources to empower others to make a difference in the world.“
The Adorable Kylo
Prepare yourself for a rollercoaster of emotions as you witness the transformation of their goofy little fluffball into a majestic protector. After a while, the adorable pup was used to their daily photoshoot and ran to the spot as soon as Lucas picked up the camera.
You’ll laugh at the antics, sigh at the cuteness, and maybe even shed a tear at the sheer beauty of it all.
Let’s watch:
The 2+ minute video generated over 70.000 views and 80 comments, all celebrating the adorable pup!
Some of the commenters were inspired by Kylo’s video and wanted to attempt something similar, while most were just thankful for a chance to watch this adorable and clumsy pup become a full-grown and proud adult.
However, the beautiful Kylo isn’t the only furry addition to the Smissen family. Before the German Shepherd came into the household, they had an adorable Corgi, Bilbo.
Bilbo and Kylo are now brothers and best of friends! You can follow all of their fun adventures on their Instagram page.
Kylos Adventures
Not long after Kylo turned one year old, the Smissens family got another addition, this time without fur! Kylo and Bilbo got a human brother to look over, and Kylo, like any good German Shepherd, took his job to heart.
Just look at this adorable picture of baby John with his loyal guardian Kylo.
It seems that Kylo and Bilbo are doing their big brother duties perfectly because, in February of this year, Lucas and Kelsey decided to give the boys more responsibility and added a new human baby to their little family – this time, a little girl.
In May, Kelsey shared a picture of Lucas, John, Kylo, and Bilbo huddled together during a tornado warning; as scary as it might be, just look at how adorable and cozy they look! You can see that Kylo is a lot bigger now but just as cute as he was at eight weeks old.
If you are a future dog parent, please steal this cute idea and take pictures of your pooches every day!
We are sure the results will amaze you; it is so beautiful to watch our furry babies grow!
