Lt. Nehls selected Tek on June 7th, 2017, at Jessiffany Canine Services LLC in Iron Ridge, WI.

Over six years, he had served on 314 deployments with 98 arrests made by him alone, proving himself time after time again through every task that was given to him.

Tek’s role within the SWAT team and Drug Task Force could not have been more important.

However, Teks impact was not only noticed during his detection work, he also loved going to schools or events to give presentations to children or people who were interested in learning about what these types of dogs do for us!

It went straight into people’s hearts wherever they met because nobody could get over how calm-natured yet skilled this animal truly was.

The video that went viral shows Tek being sent off emotionally. The dispatcher can’t help but pridefully share all of Tek’s accomplishments while holding back tears.

However, she isn’t the only one crying during this video. When you watch it, you see Lt Nehls kneeling beside him, whispering sweet words into his ears like there is no tomorrow – their bond visible from miles away with every touch they share together!

Tek, with his soulful eyes, appears to understand the gravity of the moment, leaning into his handler with trust and affection.

They say seeing is believing, so if anyone needs proof of the relationship between these two, then they need not look any further.

It’s a unique partnership built on trust, loyalty, and respect – and this is demonstrated perfectly in Tek and Lt Nehls’ story alone. Let’s watch it together!

Tek’s service was not just a job; it was a collaboration rooted in love and dedication.

While he may be retired now, Tek will still live with Lt. Nehls and his family forever, ensuring their bond never breaks again.

These dogs are more than just tools of the trade; they are partners, friends, and family members.
